Sustainable Market Driven Industrialization (SMDI) of Africa’s Cashew Nut Sub-Sector - Ward Holdings Africa (WHA)
There are fifteen major cashew harvesting countries in Africa which produce 60% (~2,700,000 MT [metric tons]) of the World’s annual cashew nut production (~4,500,000 MT) of which only 10% is processed in Africa. The remaining 90% is sold largely to Vietnam and India at a raw material (commodity price) which is the lowest economic value in the global supply chain.
WHA developed and is advancing the SMDI platform to industrialize Africa’s agricultural harvest starting with the cashew nut sub-sector. WHA builds support to organize, commission, and operate SMDI infrastructure throughout the continent in partnership with Africa’s cashew farmers and in-country processors.
WHA’s SMDI expansion approach involves historic and transformative outreach to the global capital markets to gain access to affordable “cost of capital” to scale SMDI via an Initial Public Offering (IPO). In addition to connecting African farmers to the global markets and creating millions of industrial/agriculture-centric jobs; SMDI will spur economic development and prosperity throughout Africa, in line with development plans set forth by many of its 54 countries; and the African Union. Moreover, WHA’s SMDI Platform will increase the output of Africa’s continental GDP, strengthen government treasuries, and help Africa to more fully participate in the mainstream of global commerce and social discourse. This characterizes our company commitment to the development and advancement of economic platforms in Africa through transformation and industrialization.
WHI’s philosophy is… When our partners win, we all win.
Supporting the success of those we partner with goes far beyond our own economic interests.
